Dental Hygienists are some of the more familiar faces in our office due to routine preventative care. Together with our doctors, our hygienists play a critical role in the oral health and well being of our patients. Their collaboration with the doctors is an essential element to success at South County Smiles and we are so fortunate to have such a talented group of hygienists supporting us.
Their combined 30 years of experience and commitment to continued education makes them a prized group of individuals who are excelling in their field. They are all active participants in a Hygiene Study Club; a group of dental hygienists that congregate to read, study and discuss the latest struggles, achievements, advancements and technology. We truly have a problem solving and cutting edge team of women who are looking out for our patients on a daily basis.
Kelly began her dental journey as a 15 year old as a file clerk and progressed in the field to became a dental hygienist in 2003. Kelly became a part of the South County Smile’s team in 2009. Her education includes an associates degree in Applied Sciences from the Community College of Rhode Island and a bachelor’s degree in Science from Rhode Island College. Kelly holds her CPR certification since 1995 and her Local Anesthesia license since 2011. Family is what truly what makes her smile the most; she loves spending time with her husband Mike, son Zachary and dog, Chloe. She enjoys traveling, reading and spending time working out at the gym. Zach is very active in sports so their family spends nearly all of their free time in a hockey rink, baseball or soccer field. Somehow Kelly has also found the free time to become a Certified Disney Travel Agent and she plans trips to both Disney and Universal Studios.
Allegra graduated with her degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011 and immediately began her work in the field. After acquiring several years of experience, she joined the South County Smiles team in 2019 and has proven to be focused and dedicated to her position. She is detail-oriented and understanding with her patients as well as her colleagues.
On a personal level, Allegra is pretty predictable. In the summer, you will nearly always find her at Narragansett Town Beach between chairs 4 and 5 with her family and son, Isaac. In the winter, she enjoys snowboarding and is working towards getting Isaac confident on the slopes as well!
Allegra is part of not only our family, but a large close-knit Italian one, and a strong group of friends as well. She claims that the one thing that is consistent between all her families is that, ‘we all do a lot of eating…food brings everyone together!”.

She will be starting school this coming Fall 2020 at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences pursuing a Masters in Dental Hygiene and focusing on the educator pathway with the intention of teaching dental hygiene in the future. She currently lives in Tiverton, RI with her best friend of 10 years and enjoys cooking, game nights with her boyfriend and her cat Cloe.
