DOCTOR OF DENTAL SURGERY

Dr. Benjamin Droney is a driven and diverse healthcare professional who joined the South County Smiles team in September 2021. He relocated to Rhode Island from New York where he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Touro College of Dental Medicine.
During his studies he served as a Dental Assistant at Camp Smith Military Training Site where he enhanced the treatment workflow in an effort to see 250+ soldiers per day. Following his graduation, he completed his residency at Saint Barnabas Hospital in Bronx where he performed a wide range of surgical operations from restorative treatments and developing multi-step treatment plans to suturing intraoral and extraoral lacerations.
Dr. Ben has worked passionately throughout his educational career by serving the underserved community through various outreach programs; many of which he led and pioneered alongside medical students such as:
- Apartment Treatment Program
- Grasslands Homeless Shelter
- Disaster Relief Fundraising
- Big Brother Big Sister Chapter of Westchester County, NY
Through his dedication and commitment to his community, Dr. Ben is a proud recipient of community service awards and scholarships including:

He was born in Florida and lived most of his childhood in South East Asia. After having the privilege of being immersed in diverse lifestyles and philosophies of living; today, he craves cultural experiences wherever possible. He loves a good day on the golf course, tennis and basketball court and is passionate about food, cooking, and meeting shared experiences through culinary arts. His goal is to bring joy, smiles, and positivity to those around him!
