Dr. Christopher (CJ) Widdifield is a compassionate healthcare professional who joined the South County Smiles team in 2020. His first true experience with dentistry was in a dental chair, having two extractions at the young age of five. Attracted to the chrome and shine of the office and instruments, his interest was piqued from that day forward. A graduate of Moravian College, he moved to Maine and obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine in Dentistry from the University of New England.

Returning to Rhode Island after graduation, Dr. CJ, a Westerly native and beach and tennis aficionado, found a perfect fit at South County Smiles. The practice offered him the opportunity to work alongside seasoned practitioners and welcoming educators, and in return, he brings the team a fresh outlook and tireless enthusiasm. An eagerness to learn persists to this day as he continues to pursue education in all aspects of the field, learning from courses and colleagues alike. He has a particular interest in surgical procedures, aesthetics, and pediatric dentistry.

Beyond General Dentistry

Dr. Cj’s expertise goes beyond general dentistry. Certified by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, he is South County Smiles’ exclusive facial aesthetics provider. Not only is he qualified to safely administer Botox and filler injections for aesthetic enhancements, but he also uses these treatments to address chronic issues such as TMJ and migraines.

Dr. CJ has always been a leader and has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit, making him a wonderful addition to the team and thoughtfully engaged in the development of the practice. His chairside manner is calm and friendly, and his patients rave about his meticulous work and caring ways.
