Surgical Post Op Instructions
- Bleeding: Some is normal. Change gauze hourly until light pink, then remove.
- Smoking: Do not smoke—slows healing.
- Pain: Use Tylenol/Advil every 3–4 hrs or prescribed meds as directed (with food, no alcohol/driving).
- Swelling: Ice packs first 24 hrs (15 min on/off), then warm compresses.
- Numbness: Be careful not to bite lips/tongue.
- Oral Care: No brushing 8 hrs; avoid surgery site 3 days. No rinsing 24 hrs, then gentle saltwater rinse.
- Diet: Soft foods 7 days; no alcohol 48 hrs. Stay hydrated.
- Activity: Rest day of surgery; avoid heavy activity.
- Antibiotics: Take all as prescribed. Women may affect birth control.
